Come On 2009
I know this is really bad, but I am glad the holidays are over. They were nice and all, but in truth, it was way too many houses, too many people, too much stuff. Poor Bear was overwhelmed and fussy at being asked to perform on command :) Next year, I am going to set some rules because it is too much. Since my b-day though, my attitude has been changing from grinch to the usual smiley face. I had a great b-day because we went to Margaritaville and the Aquarium and I had a really great time being laid back and watching Drew enjoy everything. I am totally convinced that this 2009 will be much better than 2008. In order to start it off right, I have done my first meme without being tagged. Enjoy!
New Year's Meme
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Became an auntie. Went to NYC. Met Bobby Flay!
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I honestly can’t remember the new years’ resolutions I made for 2008, so God knows if I kept them. Maybe I should start writing them down…. But definitely I have some for this year that I will try to keep and I really have to start immediately. Being better at cleaning up after myself is one of them.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes! My sister gave me a niece – Ava Loren.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not really. My grandpa’s sister just died a few days ago. We weren’t that close, and I haven’t seen her since the storm, but still it is very sad.
5. What countries and/or states did you visit?
No countries this year, but maybe in 2009? But I did visit Florida, Texas, Alabama and New York.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
Definitely energy to keep a clean house and motivation to make my little company the best it can be.
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
July 9th – The day Ava was born and I don’t remember the date, but definitely the news about my bestie is forever etched.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Losing 19lbs!!!! Since May this is what I have lost. I know I lost more than that since I gained 40 for the pregnancy, but I don’t count those early pounds that came off right away. That was my biggest pregnancy lesson – Eating for two is a myth and bananas foster pancakes, while yummy, are extremely fattening :)
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not paying enough attention to my company, which I am very passionate about. My goals for WBTC are definitely part of my new years’ resolutions.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nope….Thankfully daily vitamins are my friend.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
New clothes that fit after weight loss.
12. What was the best thing someone gave you?
My new ring that my hubby gave me for my 5 year anniversary. I also got a new bracelet for my b-day, which I also heart.
13. Were you lucky in love or lucky in cards?
I didn’t go to the casino enough to be lucky in cards, but Vegas is already in my plans for 09, so we’ll see ;) I am very lucky to have the love of my hubby and my little boy who clearly adores me as much as I him and that is the nicest feeling in the world.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Trips, Gifts, Expensive Restaurants and Wine of course.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The prospect that Hillary might be pres (yay for Sec of State though) and Obama winning the election.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Weird I know but Britney Spears’ Womanizer. Here is where I admit that I am a Britney fan. 2008 really sucked bad for her, but 2009 will be a comeback year. Sort of like how I feel.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder? This is hard because I am always happy at this time of year for the prospect of what the new year will bring. Some things make me happier, some sadder this year.
Older or wiser? Both, right? I am definitely wiser about the ways of a toddler and definitely a year older.
Thinner or fatter? Thinner!!! Yay!!!
Richer or poorer? I think about the same. Thankfully work raises offset the new cost of a little one.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing cards instead of texting/emailing. Don’t you love when you receive something handwritten in the mail?
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Wasting time.
20. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?
Watching Ryan Seacrest as I toast my hubby with expensive Champagne J New Years Eve is not my fav holiday due to a car accident many years ago (isn’t this typical me J)
21. Did you fall in love in 2008?

Work harder to find time doing the things you want to do and are passionate about because life is oh so short.
