Bad Mommy Moment
Ok I have a great proud mommy story complete with video that will invoke many "aww how cute" sounds, but as I wait for my technical director (aka Brad) to upload the video, I must share my bad mommy moment that happened yesterday.
Drew has been learning how to talk on the phone. We let him play with an old phone that we don't use anymore and he carries it around next to his ear starting with "Oh" for Hello and then proceeds to talk babble and nonsense into it. Well I was busy getting ready yesterday morning and he asked for our real phone. I let him play with it, so what happened next is my fault.
Drew called the cops on me.
Yeppers, Drew dialed 3 9s and 15 1s and apparantly that works because the next thing you know, cops were knocking at my door at 6:45 a.m. They did try to call me first but I didn't know it was them because an unknown number came up on my caller ID and I didn't answer because I was changing Drew's diaper, and I didn't know who it was. Anyway, I was a hot mess when I answered the banging knock (you know how cops do). I had a snoflake robe over Brad's white tee, pink pj pants and black mickey mouse socks. I hadn't even brushed my teeth or hair yet, so I can't imagine what these guys were thinking.
They explained that someone called 911 from our house and I just stood there looking at Drew like, "Really?" Then they asked if I was home alone I guess to make sure someone wasn't holding a gun to my head or something. My friend told me that usually they ask to come in anyway, but thank god they didn't have to and they were nice and understanding and left.
By oh gosh I was mortified and this one goes down in Drew's history book for sure. So two notes to self - You don't have to dial just 911 for it to work and don't let Drew play with the real phone.
Ahh a day in the life, right?
